At Last, Loki Fulfills His Glorious Purpose in Loki Season 2 Episode 6

The sixth episode of Loki season 2 finished, and it’s an incredible climax. In the last chapter, Loki develops time travel skills and travels hundreds of years in the past to protect several timelines. After much effort, he finds that a crucial temporal problem cannot be fixed, which forces him to choose between protecting He Who Remains and saving Sylvie. Everyone is taken away by his choice, which also serves his long-awaited aim. But what really is the aim of that? What became of Loki as a consequence of this crucial episode? In this post, let’s look at the answer!

The Multiverse Center Is Now Loki

At the end of this episode, Loki finally figures out he’s got to handle things himself—literally! He strides out as the temporal loom goes wild, his clothes sizzling from the radiation. But then, he slips into his Loki costume, which looks totally different from what we’ve seen before.

Loki, with his magical abilities, messes up the time setup and purposefully ends all the timelines. He gathers all the messed-up parts and heads towards the ruined mansion of He Who Remains, holding onto these broken bits

He takes a seat on He Who Remains’ throne and brings life back to all those dead branches. Suddenly, these branches of time start weaving around him like a massive tree, with Loki at the center, holding all the timelines together. It’s identical to the Yggdrasil tree of Norse mythology, which is said to house the nine realms and the whole cosmos. In those myths, it’s Odin and his horse who tend to the tree, but here, it’s Loki in charge of all time.

Loki’s always craved that ‘Glorious purpose’ and a seat of power in the universe. This action seems like his big break—finally achieving his goal. Though its exact direction is unknown, this might serve as the basis for the next Marvel endeavors, possibly even extending to a project similar to Avengers: Secret Wars. It’s anyone’s guess as to how Marvel presents this, but it’s obvious that Loki may have a more grandiose goal in mind than simply controlling time. Only time will reveal what comes next.

Also, Tom Hiddleston believes Shah Rukh Khan would be fantastic as a different version of Loki: ‘He’d nail it.

Shah Rukh Khan’s had an incredible year with ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’ making over Rs 2000 crore worldwide. At this high point, actor Tom Hiddleston recently praised SRK, suggesting he’d be perfect for a Bollywood Loki variant. Tom’s always spoken highly of the Bollywood superstar.

“He would be great. He’s a good variant I think,” shared the Loki actor with Bollywood Hungama. Remembering watching ‘Devdas’ in the UK, Tom expressed, “I remember it was quite a long time ago now. I remember going to see Devdas. I mean that’s quite an old film. It was such an amazing experience, and I remember seeing that in the nearby theater. I believe that I have never witnessed something like this. So, yeah, I remember that very much.”

Tom Hiddleston has portrayed Loki since 2011, starting his spin-off show in 2021. The recent season finale got a more subdued response compared to the first. In the Marvel movies, Loki met his end in Avengers Infinity War. Whether he returns or appears in other timelines remains a mystery. Yet, in a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Tom hinted it might be his final bow as Loki.

Describing the second season’s conclusion, Tom remarked, “It’s the conclusion to Season 2, it’s also the conclusion to Seasons 1 and 2, it’s also the conclusion to six films and 12 episodes and 14 years of my life.” Reflecting on his Marvel journey, he said, “I was 29 when I was cast, I’m 42 now,” adding, “It’s been a journey.”
